Preparatory Courses
One day workshops for young instrumentalists
These workshops aim to introduce young instrumentalists to chamber
music in a friendly environment. The main focus of each workshop is
chamber group coaching with groups formed according to ability and
experience. The day also includes a large ensemble session where all
participants play together alongside the Regency Ensemble. Each workshop
closes with an informal performance given by the participants and
tutors.

Applications for this workshop have now closed. Please join us for
the end of course concert at 7pm on Friday 28th October at the Friends
Meeting House in Brighton.

Venue
- Friends’ Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton BN1 1AF (Map).

- The Friends’ Meeting House is approximately 10-15 minutes'
walk from Brighton Station.
- Street parking is metered with a 4 hour limit. There are NCP car
parks nearby.
Applicants
- We cater for bowed string and wind instruments and participants
are expected to be between approximately grade 2 and grade 5 standards.
Repertoire
- Music is sent out six weeks before each workshop and everyone
is encouraged to take their parts to their teachers to help with
the preparation.
Fees
- The workshop fee is £40 and should be paid on application.
- This fee is non-refundable after the closing date but will be
refunded in the unlikely event that we are unable to accommodate
you.
Other Information
- Refreshments will be provided as part of the workshop.
- Parents and teachers are welcome to come along to any part of
the day.
- The workshop will end with a performance at 6.15pm, which will
include a short piece played by the tutors and is open to anyone
who would like to come.
- Please bring a music stand and a pencil...and
don't forget your music!
