Preparatory Courses
One day workshops for young instrumentalists
These workshops aim to introduce young instrumentalists to chamber
music in a friendly environment. Chamber groups are chosen according
to ability and experience and all participants play together with
the tutors in a large ensemble. The workshop closes with an informal
performance of the day’s work, in which the tutors also perform
a short movement.

Information
Applicants
- These workshops cater for bowed string and wind instruments.
- Participants are expected to be between approximately grade 2
and grade 5 standard.
Repertoire
- Music is sent out six weeks before each workshop and everyone
is encouraged to take their parts to their teachers to help with
the preparation.
Fees
- The workshop fee is £40 and should be paid on application.
This fee is non-refundable after the closing date but would be refunded
in the unlikely event that we were unable to accommodate you.

- Friends' Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton BN1 1AF (Map).
Other Information
- Refreshments will be provided as part of the workshop.
- Parents and teachers are welcome to come along to any part of
the day.
- The workshop will end with a performance at 6.15pm, which will
include a short piece played by the tutors and is open to anyone
who would like to come.
- Please bring a music stand and a pencil...and
don't forget your music!
