This course is centred on chamber music coaching and chamber groups are chosen according to ability and experience. Chamber orchestra sessions offer a chance for everyone to play together and there is individual coaching on chamber music parts. The course closes with a concert, which includes a short piece played by the tutors.

Information

Applicants

• Catering primarily for bowed string instruments, applications are also welcome from wind, brass and piano and can be made by individuals or pre-formed groups.
• Participants are expected to be between 13 and 18 years old and approximately grade 5 - 8 standards.

Repertoire

• Repertoire will be allocated six weeks before the course and should be learnt thoroughly before the first day.
• We encourage everyone to listen to recordings and take their parts to their teachers to help with the preparation.
• We will do our best to accommodate any repertoire preferences.

Fees

• The course fee is £90; a deposit of £30 is payable on application and will be refunded in the unlikely event that we are unable to accommodate you. The balance is due six weeks before the course.
