Regency Chamber Courses

Courses and workshops are centred on chamber music coaching and chamber groups are carefully organised so that each participant is playing with others of a similar standard. All sessions are coached by a member of The Regency Ensemble and aim to encourage and develop individual musical and ensemble skills.

Chamber orchestra sessions provide an opportunity for everyone, including the tutors, to play together.

Coaching and rehearsals culminate in a performance and a chance to share experiences with friends and family.

Courses are aimed primarily at string players but other instrumentalists are welcome. Applications are invited from individuals or pre-formed groups. You can also just join us for the chamber orchestra part of each course – a perfect taster opportunity.

Courses and Workshops

Preparatory Courses: one-day workshops for young instrumentalists of approximately grades 2-5 standard. An introduction to chamber music, focusing on the enjoyment and benefits of ensemble playing. £40 per workshop.

Intermediate Courses: two-day courses for young musicians of approximately grades 5-8 standard. In addition to chamber music and chamber orchestra, these courses include individual coaching on chamber music parts. £45 per day.

Advanced Course: a four-day intensive chamber music course for 18+ year olds aimed at post grade 8 standard musicians. Chamber music, chamber orchestra and individual coaching lead to a final concert which takes the form of a public recital. £45 per day.

Workshops for Adults: one-day workshops for Adults. The chamber music portion of these workshops offers an opportunity for participants to play with one of the tutors, who coaches whilst playing in the group. £55 per workshop.

Workshops in Schools: workshops are offered to schools throughout the year. The performance given at the end of these workshops can be recorded and used for GCSE and AS assessments. Prices upon application.
